Seniors' Lunch in Capital Ward - June 17th

Councillor David Chernushenko is hosting a free seniors’ lunch and wellness event on Wednesday, June 17, at Revera Living Colonel By, 43 Aylmer Avenue. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. This event is exclusive to seniors living in Capital Ward - the Glebe, the Glebe Annex, Old Ottawa South, Old Ottawa East, Dow’s Lake, Heron Park and Riverside.

Hydro Ottawa work along south end of Main Street - April 27 to July 31

Beginning on April 27, 2015, Hydro Ottawa will begin the installation of new underground civil infrastructure that will support the City of Ottawa's light rail transit. This involves excavating a trench along the city's boulevards and sidewalks. This planned work includes installations on the following streets:
- West side of Main Street from Centennial Boulevard to Riverside Drive
- Crossing of Main Street at Elliot Avenue

Main Street Renewal Project Open House - May 11, 2015

The next Main Street Renewal Project open house will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015. The City of Ottawa will provide details about the construction project that is scheduled to begin this spring with final completion in 2017. Design drawings will be on display and staff will be on hand to provide information and receive comments. Details of the open house are below and on the City of Ottawa website.

Park clean-up - Springhurst Park (April 26) and Brantwood Park (May 16)

Please come and help to clean up Springhurst Park and the trail to the transit way on Sunday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet at the basketball courts. Bags will be provided. Please bring your own gloves if you have them.

More utility work on Main Street to begin the week of April 6, 2015

Work on the Bell duct crossings of Main Street will begin the week of April 6, 2015. One crew will work at Main and Clegg, and another one potentially at Main and Oblate. The upcoming crossing work will require lane reductions during peak periods so traffic will be impacted. The work is expected to be completed by May.
